In 2020, it became the second most visited national park in the Canary Islands, behind Teide, and the fourth most visited in Spain.<br\/>Throughout Timanfaya, \u2018geothermal anomalies\u2019 occur \u2013 a term coined by volcanologists. Las Monta\u00f1as de Fuego. <\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n<br><br><h2>What are the Fire Mountains?<\/h2>\n<p>When we want to explore the Mountains of Fire, we are looking for a \u2018stroll on the Moon\u2019 without having to leave Earth.<br\/>These mountains were formed after Lanzarote was ravaged by devastating volcanic eruptions between 1730 and 1736. This is how Timanfaya National Park and the beautiful Mountains of Fire came into being. <\/p>\n<h3>How to visit<\/h3>\n<p>To reach the destination, visitors simply need to search for the location online (Timanfaya National Park) and follow the directions provided by their sat-nav.<br\/>Another option is to search for \u2018Islote de Hilario\u2019 on Google Maps. Before reaching the islet \u2013 which is where the car park is located \u2013 visitors will come across the ticket office where they can purchase their ticket. <\/p>\n<h3>**Informaci\u00f3n importante**<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>From 15 June 2026, you must purchase tickets online before visiting Monta\u00f1as del Fuego. Tickets are not sold at the box office. <\/li>\n<li>During the booking process, visitors must select a time slot from those available for that day.<\/li>\n<li>We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your booked time with your ticket downloaded onto your mobile, as mobile coverage in the area may be limited.<\/li>\n<li>The daily capacity is limited, so we recommend booking in advance.<\/li>\n<li>You can find all the latest official information at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cactlanzarote.com\/visita-montanas-del-fuego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.cactlanzarote.com\/visita-montanas-del-fuego\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Activities during the visit<\/h3>\n<p>The estimated duration of the visit is one and a half hours. The admission price includes the geothermal demonstrations and the park shuttle bus, which takes visitors on a tour along the \u2018Mountains of Fire\u2019 route.<br\/>After collecting your ticket at the ticket office, you will see the car park from which the buses depart. Buses run throughout the day and no booking is required. You simply need to turn up and wait for the next one to arrive as soon as possible.   <\/p>\n<h3>Visiting hours<\/h3>\n<p>The ticket office is open from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.
